Country Ways

Country Ways has been a poplular countryside programme for nearly twenty five years.  The programme is a nostalgic look at people and places in the south of England where traditional trades, arts and ways of life still exist inspite of the hustle and bustle of modern living.  Put together using beautiful film photography and classical music, each film has provided a gentle oasis of viewing amid the noise and gimmickery of today's television schedules.

THE FUTURE OF YOUR REGIONAL ITV PROGRAMMES!
In the past, broadcast companies who successfully bid for the ITV regional franchises have been legally obliged to commission an agreed percentage of locally made productions (e.g. Country Ways).  Over the years, the regulatory bodies (currently Ofcom) have allowed the networks to gradually whittle-down the amount of local product they have had to source until finally, from January 2009, ITV informed all its regional independent producers that they would no longer be commissioning material from them.

Although repeats may possibly be shown on ITV from time to time, the best way to continue watching Country Ways is to build your very own collection of films from any of the 25 series, or one of the specially made compilation DVDs, by going to the beautifully designed and user-friendly Whichway Media website at -
